İt sent a small robot, Philae, to observe the surface of the comet. Philae sent photos and data from the comet. Rosetta ended its mission successfully.

Valentina Tereshkova was the first vvoman in space. She was born on March 6,1937 in Moscovv. Her parents were farmers. Her father died in World War II. She left school at the age of 16 and vvorked at a textile factory. She continued her education through courses and she became an engineer. She was interested in parachute jumping. She volunteered for the Soviet space program. They accepted her to the program because of her parachute jumps. She received 18 months training and she launched on June 16, 1963. She spent more than 70 hours in space. She landed on Earth safely. She received the Order of Lenin, the Gold Medal, and United Nations Gold Medal of Peace. She never flew in space again. She married a cosmonaut, Andriyan Nikolayev, on November 3, 1963.
